Bexley’s Data Quality Toolkit
The Council uses a range of data and statistics produced internally and
also received from external organisations, which is used to inform decision-making,
plan for the future and monitor service delivery. For this reason, it is
vital that the data used is both accurate and reliable.
The Council is committed to ensuring that we maintain high standards of
data quality and we produce accurate and timely data, which will
inform strategic decisions and key operational decisions.
Our overall aim is to ‘get it right first time’ and
achieve 100% accuracy. This is supported by our corporate approach
to data quality, which ensures that a consistent approach is applied across
the organisation and accountability and ownership of data is clearly defined.
This overall aim is delivered through a set of operational policies and
procedures which can be seen in full in Bexley’s
Data Quality Toolkit (496KB, PDF file),
together with our progress against the Data Quality Performance Standards published
by the Audit Commission. The Data Quality Toolkit is updated annually (current
document updated June 2008).
