Census 2001
- Key Statistics at Ward Level
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has now published the
first set of 2001 Census results at ward level. This data is the
first set of demographic and socio-economic data that has been published
since the ward boundary changes in May 2002.
Finding Ward Information
Clicking on the ward name will bring up a ward profile,
showing key demographic, housing, socio-economic and employment
data. We are still awaiting publication of a few more detailed statistics
from the Standard Tables and the ward profiles will be updated following
the release of this data.

at ward level can be viewed here.
Also released with this ward level data were key
statistics at Output Area level. Output Areas are small areas consisting
of approximately 125 households, which can be combined together
to make the ward figures, but also used to give neighbourhood statistics.
However, only summary data for each of these 714 areas (population,
ethnicity, household composition) will be published on the website
later in the year.
Other Information
Further data, including specially commissioned tables
and workplace statistics will be released by the Office for National
Statistics later in the year.
