Gareth was first elected to Bexley Council in 1998 to represent Sidcup West ward. He was subsequently re-elected to represent the renamed Longlands ward in 2002 and 2006. During this time on the Council, Gareth has served as Vice Chairman of the Town Planning Committee (1998 - 2002), Deputy Mayor (2001-2002) and Shadow Cabinet Spokesman for Environment Transport and Regeneration (2003 - 2006). Following the 2006 elections he was appointed Cabinet Member for the Environment. |

Aileen has lived in Bexley all her life and took early retirement from her employment with the Authority after 15 years' service.
As a mother and grandmother, values family life highly and is particularly interested in opportunities for the young people of the Borough. Spare time interests include computing, gardening and reading.
Councillor Beckwith was Mayor of Bexley for the municipal year 2001-2002. |

Brian has lived in Bexley since 1938 and attended Hurst Primary School, Blackfen School (before it was girls-only) and Hurstmere. After serving an apprenticeship with Siemens in Woolwich as an instrument maker, he has spent the last 25 years working for London Underground Ltd.
Brian intends to represent the residents of Blackfen and Lamorbey to the best of his ability. |

Nigel Betts is married with a grown up family and works in the field of computer security. First elected in 1974. Served as Chairman of the Libraries, Youth & Further Education Committee 1978-1983, 1990-1994 & 1996-2001, of the Recreation Committee 1984-1986 and of the Education Review Committee 2001-2002 and has served on most Council committees.
Current Education Governorships: Bishop Ridley C of E Primary, Westwood College, Eltham College and Bexley College of Further Education.
