How To Request Information

Introduction

Bexley Council welcomes enquiries about its activities and routinely publishes a great deal of information. You may be able to find the information you need yourself, through the Council's Publication Scheme or elsewhere on our website.

However, if you can't find what you are looking for, complete the form below. Once received, an acknowledgement will be sent to you.

Timescale

Bexley Council will respond to your request within 20 working days at the latest. School related enquiries will be dealt with within 20 school working days.

Exemptions

Should we be unable to supply anything you request, we will explain the reasons to you.

Contacting the Council

If you wish to contact the Council about your information request after it has been submitted (however you have submitted that request), please e-mail foi@bexley.gov.uk or write to the address given below.

Charges

There are no charges for requests that involve less than £450 of staff time. Postage and printing charges may apply, but the Council will inform you of these charges in advance. This will give you the option to confirm your request or not to proceed if you do not want to pay any charges.

Should you be unhappy with the way in which your request has been dealt with, the reasons given for being unable to supply information, or any other aspect of the way the Council is responding to Freedom of Information, please contact:

Freedom of Information Request Form

In order that we may contact you to supply the information, please supply a contact e-mail or postal address. It would also be helpful if you supply your name.

Please double check that you have entered this information correctly, otherwise we will not be able to respond to you.

3a. Choose a category which best describes your enquiry (optional)

It would help us to provide the information that you require, if you could select the most appropriate category of information for your enquiry. If, however, your enquiry includes many different categories, don’t worry, as we will sort it out. Just select the main category.

Further details describing which publications and information are available under each category can be found within the Schedule of Classes section.

Please be as precise as possible, as this will help the Council provide the information that you want.

5. Your contact telephone or mobile number (optional)

We may need further information to help us supply the information you want, and it may be quicker to do so by telephone. If you do not supply a telephone number, we will use your postal or e-mail address.

6. In what format would you like to receive the information? (optional)

Unless you specify otherwise, we will send you the information in paper format to the postal address you supply, or we will send it to you electronically if you only supply an e-mail address.

Please note that we may wish to charge you for printing, copying or postage. However, it is very unlikely that we would wish to make any charge for sending you information in electronic format (because the costs of doing so are far lower).
