4. Classes of Information

A requirement of the Publication Scheme is to identify the "classes" of information that the Council publishes or intends to publish. The information classes shown in the attached Schedule of Classes are described in broad terms so as to apply to a wide range of Council activities. Our intention is to publish as much information as possible on subjects where there is known public interest. However exemptions under the Act may prevent some information from being released. This is explained in more detail in Section 6.

An example:

The information Bexley Council has in Class 3, Council and Committee Decisions, is split between Exempt material (no material shall be made available which is 'exempt' under the Local Government Act 1972 & 2000) and Information to be made available, in categories such as 'Council Committee and agenda papers' and 'Calendar of meetings'.

For further information on how the classes have been put together please see Section 5.
