Cory Bridge improvements

The London Borough of Bexley and its partners have delivered a variety of improvements at the Cory Bridge (formerly known as the A-Bridge), a key link between north and south Thamesmead.

The improvements include coloured architectural lights and painting to brighten the bridge structure and the area underneath the Harrow Manor Way flyover next to The Link Thamesmead youth and community centre, and clearance of overgrown vegetation. A sculpture, which local people helped to design, has been installed at the site, providing an eye-catching landmark feature. The works have made the bridge a much more welcoming space, encouraging more pedestrians and cyclists to use it. More photographs can be found in the PDF under related downloads.

The project was funded by the Cory Environmental Trust in Britain (CETB), the London Borough of Bexley, Greater London Authority (GLA)Peabody and Trust Thamesmead.
