Tender Advertisements

Where the Council does not maintain an approved list to use for tendering it will advertise for applicants, drawing up a list of firms to whom tenders will be issued. In this case the contract notice or advertisement will state what is required from the potential tenderers.

In some instances potential tenderers will be sent a pre-qualification questionnaire prior to issuing an invitation to tender. This is to assess the potential bidders suitability to supply the Council and ability to satisfy the contract. It is important that companies supply all of the requested information and respond by the due date.

These opportunities to tender for contracts may also be advertised in various publications such as:

  • The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU)
  • The Trade Press
  • The Contract Journal
  • Local papers

Health and Safety Requirements :

In meeting the duties placed by the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, and subordinate legislation, the London Borough of Bexley has selected the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) as the minimum standard of Health and Safety competence required.  Compliance with this standard, details of which are freely available on the CHAS website at External Linkwww.chas.gov.uk, demonstrates an understanding of health and safety law and a sound health and safety management system.

Only companies registered by CHAS as ‘Compliant’ (this compliance must also be ‘valid’ ie assessed within the last 2 years) shall be invited to tender, therefore any application your company may need to make to CHAS must be completed successfully by the date any tender is issued. The London Borough of Bexley will carry out a final check on CHAS registration just prior to tender invitation and companies not suitably registered at that time will not be invited to tender.

Contractors are expected to maintain a 'Compliant' registration with CHAS for the duration of any contract.

CHAS and other pre-qualification schemes - If you have been assessed recently (or are about to be assessed) through:
National House Building Council Safety Scheme
            SAFEcontractor
            SAFE-T-CERT
            Achilles UVDB Verify

HVCA – All firms that have passed successfully through HVCA independent member inspection and assessment are registered with CHAS
contact the CHAS team via e-mail at (chas.admin@merton.gov.uk) for details on whether you meet the criteria for CHAS registration this way.  This list may change from time to time and can be accessed at External Linkhttp://www.chas.gov.uk/contractorsfaq.asp#OtherSchemes.

Off Site Storage - Preferred Supplier List

Reference:

3846/UPRN

Details:

Two types of storage are sought: archival storage for documents requiring infrequent access and self-storage for documents and physical items requiring more frequent access.

Selection as a preferred provider will be based upon meeting minimum requirements.
