Certified copies from Parish Registers

Bexley Local Studies and Archive Centre is designated a diocesan record office for both the dioceses of Rochester and Southwark. We can provide you with certified copies of entries in baptismal registers. Fees are in line with those set by the Church of England.

Talks

• Talks to Schools - £45 (hourly rate)
• Talks to London Borough of Bexley organisations - £48 (hourly rate)
• Talks to out-of-borough organisations - £54 (hourly rate) + travel
• Research service

We offer a research service for customers who are unable to visit the centre. The minimum charge is one hour's research, maximum of two hours - £26 per hour

Reprographics

Bexley Local Studies and Archive Centre contains over 25,000 prints, watercolours and photographs of the Bexley area. A selection of our images can be viewed on the Bexley Archives Online Catalogues and the Ideal Homes website. Photographic prints of the images and digital prints and files of most images in the collection can be purchased. The charges are shown below:

Digital Prints - Photo Quality Paper

• Print up to A4 size - £6.15
• Print up to A3 size - £12.30
• Lamination - A4 - 62p
• Lamination - A3 - £1.25

Digital files

• Low Resolution (web/online use, 72 dpi) - £6.15
• Medium Resolution (standard reproduction, 300 dpi) - £12.30
• High Resolution (highest quality reproduction, 600 dpi) - £19.40
• CD* - £1.20

* This is in addition to the cost of digital files. Please note that all images supplied are for personal use only. If you intend to use the images in a publication or other products, a reproduction fee may be charged (see below). Low resolution images for web/online use can be emailed.

Copying service

Not all collections are suitable for all types of copying; for preservation reasons we do not photocopy or scan pre-1850 bound volumes, large volumes or volumes that are heavy or fragile.

Self-service photography permit

• Readers may apply to take their own photographs of documents in the archive study area using either digital or traditional cameras
• An application form must be completed
• The use of flash is strictly prohibited
• Non commercial research use : £5.40 for up to 10 images, £10.80 for up to 20

Postage and packing

• A4 prints - £1.45
• A3 prints - £1.90
• CD - £1.18
• Publications - £1.85 (depending on size of order)
