Bookings for schools and youth groups are available all year with the option of taking part in a wide variety of sports such as sailing, kayaking and bell boating.

Danson Watersports Centre

Danson Watersports Centre is fully accredited by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, the Royal Yachting Association and the British Canoe Union.

All of our instructors are fully qualified and experienced at working with young people.

All boats, changing facilities and safety equipment needed during courses are provided.

Primary schools

Whether your school is visiting for an afternoon or a whole week, Danson Watersports Centre can host fun, exciting out of the classroom learning experiences for children on the water. Sessions can be tailored to your needs, whether it is a multi-activity fun day or specific topic related learning.

Multi activity fun days are a great way for young people aged 8 and over to experience a number of watersports in a fun, safe environment. Sailing, kayaking and bell boating are all fantastic outdoor sports that can be enjoyed during the day.

Accreditation based activities can be run to conform with a specific syllabus or for pupils to achieve awards and accreditation in a specific sport. These can be run over a number of days or weeks, whichever suits you best.

Watersports activity week, a week of fun on the water activities where pupils can work towards qualifications in sailing and kayaking whilst having a lot of fun on the water.

Secondary schools 

Multi activity fun days are a great way for young people to experience a number of watersports in a fun, safe environment alongside their peers. Sailing, kayaking and bell boating are all fantastic outdoor sports that can be enjoyed during the day. This is a popular way of celebrating the end of term or school year

Accreditation based activities can be run to conform with a specific syllabus or for pupils to achieve awards and accreditation in a specific sport. We can teach sailing, kayaking and bell boating to meet the requirements for GCSE, A-level, BTech and other qualifications. We are able to adapt on-the-water sessions to suit the needs of your group, whether it be to fit in with your class times or even running land based sessions covering Health and Safety, environment and business areas. Students can also work towards nationally recognised accreditations in sailing, kayaking and bell boating.

We also run the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme at the centre with opportunities to volunteer, learn new skills and participate in expeditions in sailing and kayaking.

Cubs and scouts, brownies and guides

An evening of activities on the lake is an ideal way for youngsters to build skills, solve problems and enjoy the great outdoors. Sessions can be tailored around your requirements, whether its fun and games, team building, or working towards specific badges and qualifications. For example, many scouts have completed their Watersports badge with us recently.

We can also run multi-activity days to combine a number of sports in one day, such as sailing, kayaking and bell boating.

The Watersports Centre can run sessions for your pack or group 7 days a week, and operates most evenings.
