We offer competitive salaries and all our staff are included in a performance related pay scheme. Details of the salary scales are below - any posts you see advertised will display the grade of the role.

Choices - is a benefits package attached to some jobs. We contribute towards a lease car or you can take cash as an alternative. If Choices applies you will be given the details in your recruitment pack.

Relocation - if you need help moving into the Borough we may be able to help with lodging allowance, travel allowance or a lump sum depending on your circumstances. Details are below.

Interest free public transport season ticket loans and the Cycle to Work scheme- are available to help you to get to work without using the car. Further details are available on request.

Car share scheme and pool car scheme - are available when car travel is unavoidable. The car share scheme allows staff from the same areas to get together and share the commute, the pool car scheme enables you to use a brand new environmentally friendly car to travel between sites and visits during the working day.

Childcare vouchers -allow you to benefit from tax concessions through a salary sacrifice arrangement to help you to manage your childcare needs. Further details are available on request.

Family friendly policies - are available to help you to manage your work/life balance. These include the statutory provisions for time off and the opportunity to apply to work flexible hours, job share or take a career break.

Annual leave purchase scheme - is available to help you to take some extra time off, perhaps for a longer holiday or special occasion. Up to 10 days additional leave can be purchased in any one annual leave year (pro-rata for part timers).

Local authority discount scheme - The Council has teamed up with KAARP to offer staff a range of specially selected goods and services at a discount. The offers change regularly but include discounted entry at several of the big theme parks and attractions as well as local offers in and around Bexleyheath. In addition the Marriot Hotel in Bexleyheath offers a corporate discount on their leisure facilities and staff benefit from 10% discount on Adult Education Courses.

Employee volunteering scheme and reservists policies- allows you to expand your experience and do something you enjoy whilst also providing an invaluable contribution to the wider community.

Employee Assistance Programme - is available 24/7, 365 days a year at no cost to you. It can be accessed on line, by phone, e-mail or instant message. It offers:

  • A professional consultation and counselling service which is confidential and independent from the Council
  • A range of helpful website tools including savings on products, budgeting help and personal development
  • Help with work, personal, family issues, money issues or life events
