Penalty Charge Notice served by being handed to motorist or fixed to the vehicle (Served Directly)

When a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) has been served to a vehicle by either being attached to it or handed to the motorist, the motorist has two options.

  1. Pay the Penalty Charge within 14 days of the date of the notice (date it was issued) at the reduced rate (50% of the full charge)
  2. Submit an informal challenge, by following the directions on the back of the Penalty Charge or selecting PCN challenge and evidence review

Please do not supply or send original documentation as supportive evidence at any stage of the recovery process. The Council cannot take any responsibility for loss or damage and cannot guarantee that it will be returned to you even if a request is made for return.
