Corporate and Community Services team

The Corporate and Community Services team is responsible for managing the procurement activity arising from the directorates of adult social services and children and young people's services and also for a range of corporate (cross directorate) contracts.

The service includes:

  • Providing procurement advice to service and project managers. This is designed to ensure 'Value for Money' is achieved at every opportunity and could also relate to application of European or national law or the Council's various rules.
  • Participating in major procurement projects including managing the processes of pre-selection of suppliers, subsequent tendering and the evaluation of returned tenders.
  • Analysis of both expenditure and supplier patterns to identify opportunities for economy through supplier rationalisation and/or better corporate procurement.
