Sailing youth courses
Sailing is a fun and exciting sport that any young person can participate in. Our dedicated courses are for 8-16 year olds and a great way to learn the sport in a safe environment.
All the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) courses below are from 10am - 3pm and can lead to nationally recognised certification.
We provide all of the safety equipment needed and changing facilities are available on site. (Lunch is not provided).
Please bring a change of clothes and towel, just in case.
RYA Sailing youth stage one course
This is a beginners course which is aimed at giving an exciting introduction to the fun sport of sailing. No prior knowledge is necessary, our experienced instructors will take you through all the basic skills to enable you to enjoy the thrill of sailing in no time at all.

RYA Sailing youth stage two course
For those that have completed stage one, this RYA course will help improve your skills and confidence on the water. By the end of this course you will have a range of sailing skills together with background knowledge of the sport.

RYA Sailing youth stage three/four courses
For those that have completed stage two, the stage 3 RYA course concentrates on being able to sail your boat efficiently in any direction and increasing your knowledge of the sport. The stage 4 RYA course focuses on sailing a two-person dinghy well, giving you the opportunity to sail as both helm and crew.

One-one tuition
One to one tuition is available at the centre if you cannot make a particular course or would just like private tuition. The cost is £35 per hour or £150 per day (10am-3pm). Please contact the centre to check instructor availability and book.
Sailing Assistant instructor training
We offer RYA training for anyone wanting to become an instructor in sailing. The training is carried out over the year and will involve working with instructors (including a two day course). You will need to be at stage 3 / 4 minimum and interested in teaching others. Contact the centre for more details.
