Freedom of Information - advice

How to request information.

Introduction

London Borough of Bexley welcomes enquiries about its activities and routinely publishes a great deal of information. You may be able to find the information you need yourself, through the Council's Publication Scheme or elsewhere on our website.

However, if you can't find what you are looking for, complete the form. Once received, an acknowledgement will be sent to you.

Timescale

London Borough of Bexley will respond to your request within 20 working days at the latest. School related enquiries will be dealt with within 20 school working days.

Exemptions

Should we be unable to supply anything you request, we will explain the reasons to you.

Contacting the Council

If you wish to contact the Council about your information request after it has been submitted (however you have submitted that request), please e-mail or write to the address given.

Charges

There are no charges for requests that involve less than £450 of staff time. Postage and printing charges may apply, but the Council will inform you of these charges in advance. This will give you the option to confirm your request or not to proceed if you do not want to pay any charges.

Appeals

Should you be unhappy with the way in which your request has been dealt with, the reasons given for being unable to supply information, or any other aspect of the way the Council is responding to Freedom of Information, please write to the FOI Review Officer at foi@bexley.gov.uk who will undertake an internal review. If you are still dissatisfied, you may contact the Information Commissioner's Office, http://www.ico.gov.uk/ who may allocate a case officer to review the complaint.

Other enquiries or comments

If you have any other comments, please select the kind of feedback or contact you wish to make so that we can deal with it in the most appropriate way.....

  • General enquiries - To ask about any aspect of the Council or its services or to request information about the borough in general.
  • General comments, compliments or complaints - We want to provide services in a friendly, helpful and efficient way. Your praise and your criticisms are equally valued in helping us plan for the future. Council employees work hard to provide high quality services. To help us do this, we would like to hear your views on the services you use.
  • Feedback on the website - Use this section to let us know what you think of the Bexley website, or if you have any ideas on how it could be made more useful for you.
