Operated by MyTime Active, Barnehurst Golf Course is a 9-hole course situated near Bexleyheath, just 10 minutes from the M25 Dartford exit.

Originally designed by architect James Braid in 1904, Barnehurst was built within the grounds of the historic Barnehurst Manor House, remains of which are still integrated into the layout of several holes.

Improvements planned for 2014

The multi-shot driving range

A new 15 bay range will replace the site of the old first hole, incorporating features that 'change the way golfers use driving ranges' - offering a variety of shot options and encouraging better practice routines.

Target greens will be placed at varying lengths, with the space between each green shaped to create the appearance of golf fairway with subtle markers helping golfers to focus practice on the target areas.

The first stage of work was completed in 2011/12, with the first, second and ninth holes remodelled and a new practice green introduced. The most extensive work was to the first hole, where the landscape was resculpted, resulting in impressive views across the surrounding area.

Environmentally aware

Wider improvements to the course will sustain the natural habitat and preserve the open spaces for everyone. These include planting over 1500 trees and over 3500 shrubs, creating new woodland that links with the existing woodland. These new areas will be sensitively managed to increase the diversity of species.
