In July 2008, the London Borough of Bexley adopted a Regeneration Brief.

Howbury Regeneration Brief

To guide the redevelopment of an important site in Slade Green, the current Howbury Centre and the former playing fields to the north and north-east.

The Howbury Regeneration Brief aims to secure a viable and sustainable redevelopment and mix of uses that will be appropriate to this suburban location, which will help lead the regeneration of Slade Green.

The development will provide new homes, children's play area, open space, and community facilities including a new library and possible shop and police office.

The adoption of the Howbury Regeneration Brief followed a period of public consultation on the draft document between December 2007 and the end of February 2008.
