Bexley Education Improvement Partnership

The Bexley Education Improvement Partnership is a group of 15 primary and secondary schools.

The schools are working together on a host of activities and projects to help children and young people get even more from their time at school.

We have outstanding opportunities to encourage higher levels of success for our children. We are receiving additional funding from the Government to help set up and run the projects, which will help us achieve our motto of ... "Excellence for Everyone".

Activities in the Partnership fall within five broad strands:

  1. The Gifted and Talented Strand aims to help children reach their potential, and focuses on complementary out of school activities, enrichment activities, greater differentiation in lessons and personalised learning.
  2. In the Learning Mentor Strand non-teaching school support staff, known as Learning Mentors, help children overcome their barriers to learning.
  3. The Learning Support Unit Strand (secondary schools) supports children to take a full part in the life of the school and to keep learning.
  4. The Tailored Strand aims to improve the quality of learning and teaching so that children can approach change with confidence. This strand includes activities to help children make successful transitions, and as with the gifted and talented strand, focuses on personalised learning.
  5. The Behaviour Improvement Programme (BIP), started in September 2005, aims to raise standards of behaviour, improve attendance and reduce exclusions so that children and young people are able to achieve their potential.
