Mobile Libraries

Bexley's mobile library service reaches the parts of the community that our local libraries cannot.

What's in a mobile library for you?

• Over 2000 items for loan
• Popular adult and children's fiction and non-fiction
• Large print books as well as books on CD and tape
• The latest film releases on DVD
• Free access to the Internet
• Information about council services
• Friendly and helpful staff
• Easy access for people unable to climb steps

Our mobile libraries visit 67 locations around the borough and lend over 100,000 items each year. These visits include sheltered accommodation and 28 retirement homes for the elderly. The mobile library also leaves a collection of books for residents at these homes to use until the next visit.

To become a library member couldn’t be easier and it won’t cost you a penny. Simply visit your nearest mobile library stop or local library and fill in one of our membership forms (make sure you bring two proofs of identification to confirm your name, address and signature) and you’re ready to borrow.
