Dangerous buildings/structures |
If you are concerned that the structure of a building is unsafe and making it dangerous, report it to the Council's Building Control section.
If you are concerned about conditions in a building/property and you think they make the building dangerous, you can report it to the Council's Health and Safety Team who can investigate. |

Danson Park |
Many local activities and events are run from Danson Park in Bexleyheath.

Day Centres and Care |
If you do not already receive services via a day centre, please telephone our screeners on 020 8303 7777.
The Council's Social Services department runs several day centres across the borough to provide some day care and support to people who may be elderly, have a physical or mental disability. |

Development opportunities (Inward Investment) |
The Economic Development Unit seeks to encourage business investment across the borough for various key commercial and industrial areas and premises. |

Disabled Facilities Grants |
Grants are awarded to adapt homes where the occupier has a disability which restricts access to all the facilites within the home. The amount of grant awarded is based on the applicants financial circumstances.
Grants are available from central government to assist employers to modify their workplace to make life easier for employees or new recruits with a long term disability. |

Disabled persons - parking bay applications |
If you are disabled and cannot park off the street, you may be eligible for a special parking bay in the road. |

Diseases |
Identify and control sources of certain infectious diseases including food poisoning. |
|
Ditch maintenance |
There are 32 ditches in Bexley, 9000 linear metres in total, and they are maintained twice a year. Please report any problems with ditches to us.

Dogs |
For complaints about dog fouling or the enforcement of regulations regarding dogs in parks.
If you want to speak to someone involved in the decision-making or agreeing of regulations for dogs in parks (policy-making), contact Parks Policy, whose number is on the right.
A dog warden service deals with reports of stray or dangerous dogs. |

Domestic Violence |
The Council works very closely with other local agencies to try and support victims of domestic violence. The agencies whose telephone numbers are given on the right are all there to provide you with help.
The Community Safety Unit (Domestic Violence) telephone number is open weekdays between 8:00am and 7:00pm.
London Borough of Bexley's Social Services number is open weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
The Emergency Service number is open during evenings and weekends.
The number of Bexley Women's Aid, who provide refuge for women, with or without children, is open between 9:30am and 4:30pm, on weekdays. |

Drug and Alcohol Action Team |
An integrated partner with Bexley Community Safety Partnership, this team is involved in a broad range of work to reduce the harm that drugs and alcohol cause to local communities. |

Drug and Alcohol Team |
This team offers specialist advice and support to individuals living in Bexley who are planning to become or who are substance-free. Help is also given to their families and carers. Where appropriate, referrals can also be made to other services. |

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme |
Bexley Education Business Partnership operates the Duke of Edinburgh's Award for Bexley. The scheme is aimed at young people between the ages of 14 and 25. There are three levels - bronze, silver and gold. |
