The Local Studies and Archives Centre has a collection of local history materials which may be useful in tracing family history. Staff are available to help and advise. |

Family Information Service |
The Family Information Service (formerly the Children's Information Service) provide accurate, up to date, impartial information on childcare including childminders, nurseries and playgroups/pre-schools, crèches and out-of-school activities. |

Faulty Goods |
If you buy goods that turn out to be faulty or not as described you may be entitled to a refund. To find out more contact Consumer Direct - the government telephone and online service offering information and advice on consumer issues.

Fire |
If you require information about the local fire brigade, fire precautions or fire regulations contact the Fire Service 020 7587 4510.
If you require information about fire safety, especially in houses with multiple occupants contact the Environmental Health Service. |

Information about local firework displays is available from Highways and Amenities.
For information on licences for businesses to stock fireworks and other explosives contact Trading Standards. |

Flooding |
The Council's general engineering group can give advice if your property or highway suffers from flooding.
Flooding caused by blocked public drains and sewers are dealt with by Thames Water Utilities Ltd (TWUL). Blockages in private properties may also be the responsibility of TWUL but this depends on the age of your property and you may need to call in a private contractor - you can find numbers for these in the Yellow Pages. |

Fly tipping |
Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of rubbish. To report fly tipping that needs to be removed from the highway or Council land or if you see anyone dumping rubbish please contact us. |

Food premises registration |
Premises that are being used to produce or sell food or drink must register with the Environmental Health Service. |
|
Food safety, hygiene, poisoning and complaints |
You can complain to the Council about food or drink or about premises that you feel are unfit to be producing food. |

Fostering |
The Children's Placements Service Team recruits and supports people who
would like to provide permanent homes or to foster children and young people
for a few days or longer periods of time. |

Foxes |
The Council do not provide a service for the removal of foxes, although it does provide advice about how to deter them from your garden. |
|
Fraud Investigation Team |
Fraud prevention can save a lot of money each year but we need your help to crack down on those involved in fraud. If you think you may have information about fraud (whether this is fraudulent payment of benefits or any other fraud to do with Council services) contact the Fraud Investigation Team. Your information will be dealt with confidentially. |

Freedom of Information |
The Freedom of Information Act came into force 1 st January 2005. Everyone has the right to ask the Council if it holds particular information and receive that information within 20 working days if it does. |
|
Freedom passes (travel permits) |
'Freedom passes' offer free local bus, tube and train travel to London residents aged over 60 outside the morning rush hour. These are issued free from main Post Offices. You will need to take proof of identity, age and address and two passport size photographs.
If you are a blind person or registered disabled you may be entitled to a
pass, following an assessment, please contact Inspire Community Trust using the
