Hall Lettings |
Several Council halls/rooms are available for hire for events:

Hall Place |
Hall Place is a country house set in formal gardens on the bank on the River Cray. Many of its rooms are open to the public. Hall Place also houses Bexley Museum. Exhibitions, concerts, lectures and other events are held throughout the year. Open daily in summer and Monday-Saturday in winter. Special arrangements can be made for wheelchair access to the gardens. |

The Environmental Health Service checks places of work are checked to ensure they meet health and safety laws. Certain accidents and dangerous incidents at work can be investigated.

Highway stopping up (removal of highway rights) |
Advice on the procedures required in order to remove existing highway rights from land when considered necessary or appropriate. |

The Council has responsibility for ensuring footpaths, pavements and street lighting (that is owned by the Council) are maintained. |

Howbury Centre |
The Howbury Centre is a community resource which provides adult and community education. Early years facilities, playgroups, sports groups, cafeteria, creche facilities, computer suite and library are provided. |

Hotels and Accessibility |
Information on the legal obligations for hoteliers under the Disability Discrimination Act, in particular making premises more accessible for disabled people. |

Information about disposing of household rubbish in a safe and responsible manner. |

The Council has a number of different housing related services. |

Housing - sheltered |
The Council is committed to helping people in the community who have some supported housing needs and can help to find sheltered accommodation to buy or rent.

Housing allocations and associations |
The Council does not provide rented housing itself but does provide a full allocations service to the associations. |

Housing benefit |
The Housing Benefit Service is managed by Capita Business Services on behalf of the Council and is based at Erith Town Hall, Walnut Tree Road, Erith.

Housing conditions |
Any concerns about housing conditions which you believe are unfit or houses which are in multiple occupation can be reported and will be investigated by the council. |

Our Housing Options Service is aimed at helping people resolve their housing difficulties and make full use of the housing services provided by the Council, Housing Associations and the private rented sector. |

Housing repairs |
These will generally be the responsibility of the landlord in the public sector and you should contact your housing association direct. Housing associations will normally have strict timescales within which to carry out emergency repairs. |
