Land charges |
The Council is responsible for the maintenance of the Register of Local Land Charges. We also process local land charges searches which are an important part of the conveyancing process. Examples of the information held on the Register of Local Land Charges include Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation Areas and planning consents. |

Information about landfill sites and their location in the borough. |

Learning disabilities |
There is a Learning Disability Team based at Stuart House in Sidcup. They provide services to residents with learning disabilities through day, outreach and respite care.
Bexley Twofold - is an employment project for adults who are on the council's learning disability register. They can be contacted by telephone on 020 8298 0703. |

Lesnes Abbey |
The ruins of the Abbey and surrounding woods and gardens are open to the public daily. Nature trails and orienteering courses are run and maps are available from the Lesnes Abbey Interpretation Centre. |

Libraries and Community Information |
If you live, work or study in Bexley you can join the library whatever your age. Membership is free. Services include loan of books, talking books on cassette and CD, music, CDs, VHS and DVD videos, books, periodicals and newspapers for reference, activities for children, reading groups and Friends of Libraries groups. As well as local libraries, the Council also runs a Mobile Library Service and a Housebound Library Service. |

Licensing |
The Council licenses a range of premises and activities including music and dancing and other public entertainment events; and from the 7th February 2005 onwards will be responsible for the process and issue of the new Personal and Premises Licences and Club Premises Certificates under the Licensing Act 2003.The Council also issues licences relating to certain animals, fireworks, Part II Poisons, and for certain trades. |

Litter |
The Council empties litter bins in the borough and clears litter from pavements and highways.

Local Development Framework (LDF) |
The emerging Local Development Framework has a number of Development
Plan Documents (DPD) and Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) that contain
policies and guidance for future land use and development within the Borough. The
LDF will eventually replace the Unitary Development Plan. |

Local Groups and Facilities or Local Organisations
|
Bexley Library Service and the Contact Centre maintain a database of Local
Groups and Facilities in Bexley, including social and sports groups, parent and
toddler groups, home tutors and halls for hire. The information is updated regularly
and is available on the Libraries’ website http://eps.bexley.gov.uk/rooms/ Use
the Quick Catalogue Search box and select Local Groups and facilities from the
Everything box drop down menu.

form from the Central Library.
