Reading Partners

Bexley Education Business Partnership's Reading Partners scheme encourages volunteers from businesses and the community to spend regular time (weekly) either reading, playing number games or working on the computer (I.T.) with pupils on a one-to-one or one-to-two basis.

Registration of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships

To register a birth or a death that occurred in the Bexley borough or to make arrangments to be married or enter into a civil partnership, or give notice of marriage or civil partnership, contact the Register Office.

Renovation Grants

The Council award grants to owner occupiers and landlords to help towards the cost of carrying out repairs. Grants are awarded according to priority, which takes into account the owner's income, extent of the problem and the likely impact on the occupier's health.

Residential care

The Council is responsible for arranging residential or nursing care if someone is assessed as having a need for it. If you do not already receive these services, please telephone our screeners on 01322 356393.
The amount you pay towards residential care depends on your income and savings. The Council may also be able to arrange respite or relief care.

Road safety education, training and publicity

Road Safety Unit provides information, education, training and publicity on road safety matters.

The Road Safety Unit is responsible for school crossing patrols (lollipop people) in the Borough. It also has a School Travel Co-ordinator responsible for promoting alternatives to car us for journeys to and from school
