Sensory Support Service |
The Sensory Support Service provides services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, those who have visual impairment and those who are Deafblind.
If you do not already receive these services, please telephone our screeners on 020 8303 7777 ext. 6363.
The Visual Impairment Team will be able to deal with enquiries about services available for blind or partially-sighted people and handles registration of the blind.
We also provide specialist help if you are deaf or hard of hearing. |

Shopmobility |
Shopmobility is a wheelchair-lending service operated from the Broadway Centre, Bexleyheath to help all those with limited mobility to get around the shopping centre. The service is managed by the Bexley Association of Disabled People of 20 Whitehall Lane, Erith, Kent DA8 2DH.
For more information please call the number on the right between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday or Friday. An answerphone is available at all other other times. |

In its UDP the Council identified 9 town and 52 neighbourhood shopping centres where it tries to maintain a healthy and varied range of shops, frequently restraining the conversion of shops to alternative uses. These tables indicate the ground floor premises surveyed whenever the current mix of uses is examined. |

Street cleaning |
The Council has responsibility for cleaning public roads and pavements of litter and leaves and taking away any debris following a road accident. |

Street lighting |
The Council looks after street lights in the borough and you can report faulty or broken lighting to us. Street lighting columns are numbered - if you can, give details of the lamp column number as well as the road when reporting. |

The Council manages the street naming and numbering procedure for new streets and buildings. You must apply to name or number streets or to change existing names or numbers. |

The Council administers financial support for students in Higher Education. The help available includes assistance with tuition fees and living costs. |

The Supporting People programme aims to provide a better quality of life for vulnerable people by enabling them to live more independently and manage their homes. |

Sure Start in Bexley |
Part of a central Government initiative, North Bexley Sure Start provide new opportunities for pregnant women and families with children under the age of four years. |

There are three swimming centres in Bexley which, in addition to main swimming pools, provide other facilities for fitness training. |
