Summer Fun at Belvedere Splash Park
Belvedere Splash Park, which merited a special mention in last year's Civic
Trust Awards, reopens on Saturday, 5 May, for the 2007 season.
Subject to the weather it will continue to open daily until 30 September from
11am to 6pm.
It is a family-friendly first class water park, which is fun and a safe place
to play. Computer technology keeps the pool in prime condition but the real excitement
is the splash park with its range of water sprinklers, showers, bubble jets and
sprays. There is also a picnic area with tables and chairs and a kiosk selling
refreshments.
Civic Trust awards recognise the best in architecture, urban design, landscaping
and public art of projects that have made a valuable contribution to the environment.
Cllr Peter Catterall, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Arts and Tourism, says: "If
the summer proves to be as warm as predicted the splash park will be an ideal
venue for a great day out.
