Primary School Tri Golf Festival

About 120 children from Bexley's primary schools are to take part in a Tri-Golf festival at Barnehurst Golf Course, Mayplace Road East, Bexleyheath, on Monday, 21 May.

Using special child-friendly equipment they will take part in the Tri-Golf -- 'Try Golf' -- competition on the practice area at the club. They will be asked to negotiate everything from short hole putting to driving along a 50-yard fairway between tee and hole.

Representatives of the club have been visiting the schools to introduce the youngsters to the pleasures and frustrations of Tri Golf. The festival is being co-ordinated with Bexley Council's Leisure Team and the Schools Sports Partnerships and each child taking part will be awarded a certificate.

The Council-run Barnehurst Course, where the festival will take place, is a very attractive nine-hole 'pay and play' golf course set in mature surroundings. The course is open to all ages and abilities and you do not have to be a member to enjoy a round of golf.

For more information contact Freda Sunley, General Manager, Barnehurst Golf Course, on 01322 523746.
