Award for Cash-saving Cutting-edge Technology

Saving the Borough's residents money is a top priority in Bexley - and now the Council has won an award for its efforts to save cash by using cutting-edge technology.

Council tax payers will be pleased to know that Bexley has been judged Customer of the Year by Learning Pool. Learning Pool is an organisation that is committed to e-learning. It helps organisations make the best use of technology, as part of a blended programme of training.

What this means is that Bexley's employees can access "learning" information at the click of a mouse through the Internet - without having to wait for expensive courses. This also makes training more accessible to all staff, helping them to keep their skills up to date. And this dynamic approach to training has been achieved in a remarkable 10 months - half the time often taken by Learning Pool clients.

A spokesman for Learning Pool said: "Bexley staff have taken to e-learning like the proverbial ducks to water. With engagement from their senior team and supported by us, Bexley has used e-learning to support the roll-out of their remote working programme."

Set up by in 2002, over 105 public sector organisations now use Learning Pool as part of their training.
