Full House for Public Meeting on NHS Proposals
NHS representatives presented their proposals for changing health services
in south-east London to a packed audience in the Council Chamber at the Civic
Offices, Bexleyheath on Thursday 31 January.
The Council's Delivery of NHS Services Scrutiny Sub-Group invited the team
behind the proposals to make a presentation on 'A Picture of Health' and they
were joined on the night by more than 300 concerned residents.
The NHS team - led by Professor Sir George Alberti, Chair of the NHS National
Clinical Advisory Team - gave a detailed presentation on the proposals and
answered a wide range of questions put to them by Councillors and the audience.
At the end of the meeting Cllr
Sharon Massey, the Council's Cabinet member
for Social Care and Health, told the packed Council Chamber: "The NHS
does not belong to the clinicians or to politicians - it belongs to you. Please
read the proposals and give your views!"
The deadline for the consultation on 'A Picture of Health' is the week beginning
7 April.
