Bexley Cricket Club Leads the Way to Youth Games

Bexley Cricket Club were deserved winners in the London Borough of Bexley's first Under 13 Boys District Indoor Cricket Tournament held recently at Westwood College.

The team narrowly defeated Belvedere Cricket Club in a closely contested final and in the process displayed excellent all round batting, bowling and fielding skills. Other teams in the event were Sidcup Cricket Club and Bexleyheath Cricket Club.

Bexley Cricket Club will now go on to represent Bexley at the 2008 London Youth Games in the preliminary events to be held at Harrow Leisure Centre on 16 February.

In their qualifying pool at the Youth Games, Bexley CC has been drawn against teams from Brent and Westminster. If they are successful in these matches, will go on to represent the Borough in the overall finals to be played at Lords Cricket Ground on Sunday 2 March.

The District tournament has proved to be extremely popular and has been supported by both the Bexley District Cricket Development Forum and the London Borough of Bexley Sports Development Service.
