Have Your Say on The Future of Bexley's Green Spaces
The London Borough of Bexley is asking all residents and local organisations
to have their say on a draft Open Space Strategy.
The Borough has over 100 parks and open spaces, covering 638 hectares. They
include small, pretty gardens, beautiful river and woodland areas, and large
parks with ponds or lakes and a wide range of facilities.
Open spaces and parks and are central to the character and identity of Bexley.
They provide a number of benefits to the local community and contribute to
everyone’s quality of life. The consultation will be asking a range of
questions about the number of parks and open spaces in the borough, how we
can increase participation in sports in our outdoor spaces and what improvements
could be made. The consultation period ends on 28 July.
The final Open Space Strategy will then provide a framework for the future
planning and management of open spaces, and outdoor sports and recreation facilities
in the Borough.
Cllr John Waters, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Regeneration and
Housing said: “I urge residents and local community groups to take this
opportunity to influence the way the London Borough of Bexley plans for, and
provides, these vital amenities in the future.”
