Kick Off for Ball Court League's Autumn Season

The ever popular Bexley Ball Court League's autumn season kicks off from Monday 15 September.

The mixed league is aimed at all youngsters aged 14 -19. So if you have some spare time on your hands, why not get on down to the regular training sessions to register and have some fun? You could even develop leadership and team skills at the same time! Players do not need to wear football strips, as sport bibs will be provided. Shin pads, however, are required and comfortable clothes recommended.

Credits gained from taking part in the Ball Court League count towards Millennium Volunteers Schemes, as well as the volunteer sections and physical recreation sections of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. These can be put on CVs or Records of Achievement to prove at interviews what participants have done in their spare time!

The Bexley Ball Courts run on the following evenings between 15 September and 12 December:

Tuesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Binsey Walk, Thamesmead
East Wickham Open Space, Wickham Street, Welling

Wednesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Willersley Park, Willersley Ave, Sidcup
Town Park, Bexleyheath, (beside Asda car park) Larner Road, Erith

Thursdays 6.00pm– 8.00pm
Woodside School, Halt Robin Road, Belvedere and also 6.30pm – 8.30pm Ocean Park, West Street, Erith

Fridays 6.30pm - 8.30pm
The Dell, Crayford

The top three teams from the Ball Court League will go forward to play in the Championship League on Saturday 13 December at Goals, Bexleyheath. There will be a presentation evening for the teams, their families and friends at the Civic Offices, 7pm, on Wednesday 17 December.

The Ball Court League is run in partnership with the London Borough of Bexley, Metropolitan Police, Charlton Athletic Football Club Community Scheme and Welling United Football Club. The scheme is also supported by Hyde Housing, London and Quadrant Housing, Orbit South Housing and Gallions Housing.
