Partnership
Working together for a safer Bexley
About the Partnership
Bexley Community Safety Partnership was set up in 1996 prior to the
implementation of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 which placed a duty
on all local authorities to work together with the Police to produce
plans to reduce crime, recognising that crime reduction and prevention
was not just the responsibility of one agency but that, by forging strong
partnerships, agencies working closely together could have an impact
on rising crime. The five principal agencies of the Partnership are the
Council, Police, Health Authority, Probation
Service, and Fire Service. They are joined by over 50 voluntary and statutory
agencies to form a vibrant cohesive partnership.
