What is Domestic Violence?

"Domestic violence is any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between adults who are or have been intimate partners or family members, regardless of gender."

A free national helpline is available. You can contact the 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline on Freephone 0808 2000 247, or by emailing helpline@womensaid.org.uk. For further information, visit the External Link:Women's Aid website.

Victim Support may also be able to give help and advice, through their 'one-stop-shop' in Welling. Find out more about Victim Support's 'one-stop-shop'...

Women in need of help with domestic violence should call the Crisis Intervention Team on Freephone 0800 731 7860.
