Improved Information Sharing and Management (IISaM)

Introduction

Information sharing between agencies and the use of the Common Assessment Framework are key to ensuring that all children and young people have their needs met at the earliest opportunity.

Bexley Children and Young People’s Trust has agreed an PDF DocumentInformation Sharing Protocol (865KB, PDF file) and an PDF DocumentInformation Sharing Policy (830KB, PDF file) to which all of its members will work.

This page takes practitioners through the common assessment process and helps them to plan related activity. It also provides updates, advice and guidance on sharing information about children and young people and brings you up to date with the latest developments in this field.

There are three other documents relating to information sharing that are relevant to professionals working for the London Borough of Bexley:

It is likely that our partner organisations will have their own versions of these policies.

The Bexley Common Assessment Framework

The "Every Child Matters" agenda requires agencies to work together in a far more integrated way to improve outcomes for children and young people. Part of this agenda includes the introduction of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and Lead Professional role, and the production of a Bexley Directory of Services for Children and Families.
