Sure Start Children's Centres

What is a Children's Centre?

An activity at a Children's CentreChildren's Centres are a new way of supporting families with children under 5 years old. They offer:

  • integrated childcare and education,
  • health and family support,
  • help with finding jobs and training, and
  • drop-in sessions and groups.

We're bringing services closer to you, and putting them all in one place, so that it's easier for you and your family to get the services, advice, help and information you need all in one go.

The first Children's Centres in the borough are located where support is most needed. These are:

Bexley should have 12 Children's Centres by 2008. The plan is that eventually every community will have a Children's Centre.
