Erith Western Gateway Planning Brief Adopted

Riverside Plans Finalised

Erith Western Gateway - Planning Brief (PDF file, 4.07MB)The long awaited Erith Western Gateway Planning Brief has now been adopted by the Council. The guidance covers the area incorporating the Riverside Baths, former Walnut Tree Depot Site, LEB Site, Running Horses Public House, Layby Site (which is opposite the Former Police Station) and the Riverside Gardens. It is made up of two documents:

  1. A Renaissance Strategy which comprises a historical and urban design analysis of the area
  2. A Planning Brief which provides a design framework with guidelines. Development schemes will be required to follow this advice which includes siting and massing of buildings, parking and the design of public spaces.

It is hoped that well designed mixed use developments will be secured within the area including a hotel, community facilities, leisure, retail, commercial uses, housing and enhancements to the Riverside Gardens.

Copies of the Planning Brief will be made available in local Libraries. All the consultation documents and committee reports can be viewed from the links below.
