Danson
Festival 2008
5 & 6 July
Get Ready for Bexley’s
Big Weekend
The dates for The 2008 Danson Festival have been confirmed with
a guarantee of entertainment to suit all the family
The
Danson Festival 2008 Programme (2.99MB, PDF File) features
all the acts and events that will happen each day, as well as a detailed
map.
The beautiful parkland of Danson Park in Bexleyheath will once again host
one of the South East’s largest annual, free events – The Danson
Festival on July 5 and 6.
Headlining the main stage on Saturday night and bringing Las Vegas style glitz
and glamour to the Festival will be Suspiciously Elvis .Even if you are not a
fan of the King – this is a show not to be missed, recreating the great
man at the height of his powers and guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The Park will be divided into themed areas including a youth zone, arts zone,
sports zone, community zone and an environmental zone. If you enjoy watching
other people work hard, the dance stage will give you a good idea of how much
practice does actually make perfect.
On the main stage, hosted once again by 103.7FM TGR Sound, local bands will
get a chance to play in front of their biggest ever audience, as Festival
organisers give the best of the bunch at least fifteen minutes of fame.
If you missed the Boat Race – don’t worry – Danson has a great
alternative - Dragon Boat racing on the Park’s 9 acre lake. Raising money
for The Anthony Nolan Trust, heroic teams will battle for supremacy in their
30ft long highly decorated boats, in time to the beat of a bass drum.
Danson Festival is one of the best family days out of the summer
and with free admission, there is no better place to be.
