Enterprise
To be “enterprising” means being creative and innovative, taking risks and managing them, and having a “can-do” attitude and the drive to make ideas happen.
Bexley EBP is committed to working towards a National Enterprise Programme which will support all teachers and young people in meeting the enterprise challenge. The key learning objectives for all key stages include enabling all young people to gain an understanding of key economic concepts and how businesses work and enhancing enterprise skills including problem solving, risk taking and money management.
The EBP offers tailored Enterprise Events in schools to suit all key stages. Please contact one of our team to discuss what we can do for you.

Professional
Development Placements
We organise one to five day business placements for teachers. The aim of the placements is for business and community organisations to provide practical experience for teachers and other adults who are involved in the education of young people. Placements can be used to support the development of curriculum management and personal development.

Reading & Number Partners
This programme provides an ideal opportunity for volunteers from business and the community to spend time each week either reading or playing number games with pupils. Pupils benefit from having a friendly adult to provide encouragement and boost their self-confidence. The scheme aims to raise standards in literacy and numeracy. Bexley EBP provides support and training for both volunteers and link teachers.

Work-Related Learning
Work Related Learning is a planned activity that uses the context of work to develop knowledge, skills and understanding useful in work, including learning through the experience of work, learning about work and working practices, and learning the skills for work.
These varied projects encompass all subject areas from science to the arts and aim to introduce students to the world of work. Activities include industry days, interview practice sessions and visits to business. Schools are invited to contact the EBP regarding support for work-related projects.
A Guide to Work-Related Learning has been published by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. The guide is intended to provide people with a good understanding of work-related learning. It is aimed at everyone involved - young people and their parents or carers, employers, schools and colleges, and the Education Business Partnership Organisations that help to make it happen.

Work
Experience
This is an invaluable opportunity for students to gain an insight into a
real working environment. Placements provide practical experience and help to
increase motivation, self-confidence and interpersonal skills. The scheme also
supports personal development initiatives for employees. Find

Young
Enterprise
We coordinate the Young Enterprise Company and Team Programmes in the Borough. These programmes aim to inspire and educate young people to understand the role of business, through practical business projects. We also coordinate the Young Enterprise Primary Programme. This programme is an education package that aims to promote citizenship and key skills by using the world of business as a theme.
