General Advice
As the death of a relative or friend is a very traumatic experience
the following simple advice may be helpful. Once death has been certified by
a doctor,
either in hospital or at home, the first thing to do is to register the death.
Bexley's Registrar's Department is based at Manor House, The Green,
Sidcup, DA14 6BW. Telephone number 020 8308 7515.
Most people prefer to let a Funeral Director make all of the arrangements
for them. This has many advantages at a sad time. They have trained specialist
staff who can provide a comprehensive service, including making all the your
arrangements with the Council. The Funeral Director will be able to give advice
regarding cemeteries and crematoria and to provide you with an estimate of
the likely costs.
For further advice, please contact the Cemeteries Section
by telephone on 020 8294 6534 or by email at parks&openspaces@bexley.gov.uk.
