Waste & Recycling Services

Assisted Collections

Bexley council has been running a front of property collection scheme since 2002. Waste and Recycling will only be collected from the front edge of your property boundary, that is inside your garden and within one metre or three feet of your property. These collection arrangements reduce the risk of waste being missed and also help to make the service faster, more reliable and more effective.

Please leave all of your waste and recycling containers out by 06:45am at the boundary of your front garden on your Collection Dates.

Assisted collections for those exempt from front of property collections

The assisted collection service is provided for householders who are unable to take their bins/boxes to the kerbside because of disability or ill health. Special arrangements are made for the waste and recycling crews to collect from another location on your property (subject to agreement) and return the containers after they have been emptied.

If you cannot leave your waste at the front of your property, the Council will discuss this with you and help where it can. Please contact us on 020 8303 7777, Option 1.
