Roads, Cleaning and Street Lighting

The Highways & Amenities Department are responsible for maintaining:

1,799 streets (totalling 525 kilometres)
14 footbridges
241 inland footpaths (totalling 6 kilometres)

This includes maintenance of the footways, road surfaces, rainwater drainage, subways, street lights, signs and all street furniture such as street name plates, litter bins and bollards. The Council also install vehicle crossovers for residents who wish to park on their property.
