Transportation Planning
Transportation Planning is part of Transport
and Traffic Services. Under the Directorate of Environmental
and Regeneration Services, Traffic and Transport Services include
Transport Planning, Development Control, Road
Safety and Traffic and Parking
Design.
The Council's integrated transport strategy is laid out in chapter 8 of the current Unitary Development Plan and the transport priorities are listed in the Interim Local Implementation Plan.
Transport and Bexley's Community Strategy
Our Vision for Bexley 2003-2013 contains some aims, targets and actions:

We will work towards an improved transport system including a road network which meets the needs of users to move efficiently and safely around the borough.

We will seek to achieve a more comprehensive and integrated public transport system which better meets local people's needs.

We will support residents and businesses in moving to sustainable travel and transport.

We will undertake effective transport planning and campaigning to improve the local transport infrastructure, maximise the benefits of regional transport developments and support regeneration and economic development in Bexley.

Borough Spending Plan
The Borough Spending Plan is a bidding
document that describes Bexley Council's transport priorities and a three-year
spending programme. The bids are submitted during the summer with funding decisions
published during November.
Partnership Involvement
Bexley Council is a member of two regional partnerships which oversee and bid for transport projects with regional significance.
