National Poetry Day
 National Poetry Day, founded in 1994 by William Sieghart, Chairman of The Forward Poetry Trust and promoted by  The Poetry Society, has become established as one of the highlights of the cultural calendar, drawing together the media, schools, libraries and arts centres in a celebration of the nation's poetic heritage.
National Poetry Day is supported by the BBC who put poetry in the spotlight with a wide variety of popular programming on television and radio, and continues to raise awareness of poetry and broaden its popular appeal.
National Poetry Day 2007:
Was on Thursday 4 October 2007, and the theme was "Dreams".
