Sex Establishments
Sex Cinema
A licence is required for premises, exempting dwelling houses to
which the public are not admitted, that exhibit to a significant
degree sex films or videos.
Exemption: Premises licensed under the Cinemas
Act 1985 do not need a licence.
Sex Shop
A licence is required for premises used for a business that consists
to a significant degree of selling, hiring, exchanging, lending,
displaying or demonstrating sex articles.
Sex Encounter Premises
A licence is required for premises used for performances, services,
or entertainments that are not unlawful of a sexual nature, or for
the exhibition of material of sexual nature.
Fees and Application Forms
Sex Establishment Licences are issued on an annual basis.
Annual licences can be transferred.
Bexley Council has set the fees in respect of applications for
Sex Establishment Licences at £19,198.00. The renewal fee
is £4,517.00.
