- Find out what people think and use that knowledge to improve service
- Focus on the needs of park and open space users
- Take account of sports development needs defined by the Council's Sports Strategy
- Encourage and support projects that benefit and improve parks and open spaces
- Regularly review the Park Strategy and Park Management Plans

- Carry out a comprehensive public opinion survey
- Find out people's views through surveys, focus groups and public consultations
- Establish regular links with Park User Groups
- Work with and support individual and group projects
- Conduct regular Parks Strategy and Park Management Plan reviews
