Development Plan

Local Development Framework (LDF) Consultation

Consultation on the following LDF documents has now ended. Please see the main Development Plan page for the current status of these documents.

Lamorbey Swimming Centre Planning Brief
Draft for Consultation
Bexley Council has published for consultation a draft Planning Brief to guide development of the former Lamorbey swimming pool site and the surrounding area. We want to hear the views of the public and other interested parties. The Planning Brief looks at redevelopment options. The primary aim is to achieve a financially viable and sustainable mix of uses appropriate to this very prominent site in a town centre location. At the same, redevelopment must contribute to the vitality of the area and create a development of high quality design which will contribute positively to the character of the area. The Planning Brief is being developed as a Supplementary Planning Document which will form part of the Local Development Framework. Comments are invited by 14 March 2007.

Bexleyheath Civic Offices Planning Brief
Draft for Consultation

Bexley Council has published for consultation a draft Planning Brief to guide prospective development partners on acceptable uses and design expectations for redevelopment of the Civic Offices site in Bexleyheath. We want to hear the views of the public and other interested parties. The Planning Brief envisages a range of uses for this key site in the borough’s strategic centre. In addition to civic accommodation the new buildings could include shops, housing and businesses. The Planning Brief is being developed as a Supplementary Planning Document which will form part of the Local Development Framework. Comments are invited by 25 April 2007.

Erith Area Action Plan Issues and Options Paper
Development Plan Document - Early Consultation

An Erith Area Action Plan (EAAP) is proposed as part of the LDF. It will provide the planning framework for change within Erith. We need your help to ensure that the plan will manage the changes in a way that will bring most benefit to Erith.

A six week consultation is taking place between 26 January and 9 March 2007 where we are asking your views on the main issues within the area and alternative options for addressing them.

Core Strategy Issues and Options Consultation - The Core Strategy is the key document in the Local Development Framework and will provide the strategic framework for all other planning documents. It will set out a vision for the kind of place we would like Bexley to be in 2021 and policies to achieve this. We need your help to ensure that the plan will manage the changes in a way that will bring most benefit to Bexley.

Consultation is taking place from November 10th to December 22nd 2006. You may view and make comments on the full or summary Issues and Options Paper by participating in the online consultation.

Core Strategy and Erith Area Action Plan Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report - Bexley Council is preparing the Core Strategy and Erith Area Action Plan Development Plan Documents (DPDs) and has produced a Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report. The purpose of Sustainability Appraisal is to consider the social, environmental and economic effects of proposed policies in a DPD from the beginning and throughout the preparation process and is the first stage of production. You may view and make comments on the document by participating in the online consultation via the link above. This consultation has now closed and these pages are provided for information only.
