Introduction

Before businesses can carry out a number of activities they are required to apply for a licence or to register with, or notify the Council of those activities. The purpose is to ensure that these activities will be carried out safely and in compliance with minimum legal standards. Generally it is an offence to carry on these businesses or activities without first obtaining the necessary licence, etc.
