Pest Control
A service is provided for the treatment of pests. There is a charge for this
service in certain cases and details of the current rates can be found on our fees
and charges webpage. Below is a list of FAQs concerning some pests in the
home:
General Public Health
This includes arranging for drains and certain sewers to be cleared
and repaired. The Private Sector Housing Team also deal with Filthy and Verminous
Housing, where the occupier is living in conditions that are prejudicial to their
health. The team also take action to remove rubbish on private land affecting
the amenity of the area by advice to and enforcement action on private owners.
The work also involves establishing the responsibility for a drainage problem,
serving enforcement notices and where necessary carrying out the works on behalf
of owners and recovering costs.
