Unidentified Insects
Bexley residents may bring insects for identification purposes to the Environmental Health Office, 2A Hadlow Road, Sidcup. The sample should be put into a glass jar and labelled with your name, address & telephone number.

Moths/Bluebottles/Maggots/Ants/Beetles
The Council do not treat any of these insects. Insecticide products can be purchased from DIY shops or Garden Centres.

Bees
Bexley Council do not offer any treatment for bees and the law protects most species, so neither owned nor wild bees should be harmed in any way. If you think that the bees are forming a cluster or swarm you could contact a beekeeper that may be willing to collect them.

Bats
The law protects bats and their roosts. Advice should be sought from English Nature on any proposed activity that might affect them.

Snakes & Frogs
Residents experiencing problems with frogs or adders should call FROGLINE on 01733 558844. The line is open during office hours but there is an option to leave a message after hours. They will advise and will send out one of their local volunteers to assist if there is an emergency.
