Civil Partnership is a completely new legal relationship, exclusively for same sex couples. For information on the legal aspects of forming a Civil Partnership please follow the links below:

If couples wish, they can mark the occasion of their partnership registration with a ceremony. Bexley is proud to be able to offer couples the option of a ceremony, in addition to registering their legal partnership.
If you wish to make an appointment to give your notices of intention to form a civil partnership or to book a ceremony, please contact the Superintendent Registrar. To view the ceremony rooms, please see the page 'Your ceremony at Manor House'.
In line with civil marriage, the law allows for couples to register their partnership in the venue of their choice whether or not they live in the local authority area where the venue is situated. Any premises that are currently approved for civil marriages are also approved for the purposes of civil partnership registrations. For details of approved venues within the London Borough of Bexley, please see the page 'Being married or CP at approved premises'
Please contact the Superintendent Registrar for a confidential discussion of your circumstances if you wish to register a civil partnership in either of the following situations:
- either you or your partner are too ill to attend a register office or approved venue, it may be more appropriate to arrange for a partnership to be registered at your home or in hospital
- registering a partnership with your spouse following divorce as a result of one of you undergoing transgender procedures
